Andrew Hall will discuss fundamental concepts of open-source licensing, including the different categories and characteristics of open-source licenses and the “copyleft” (also known as tainting, hereditary, or viral) effect of certain open source licenses, before illustrating the different ways in which commercial enterprises leverage open-source software and licenses to generate revenue.
